Vexed Digital, the independent UK digital agency, has today acquired the mobile specialist Future Platforms for an undisclosed sum.
Future Platforms was founded in 2000 by senior staff from leading UK online businesses, with the ambition to take digital media beyond that of the PC.
That mission soon grew into a passion for the then emerging mobile channel, where they have since built a strong reputation in the industry for their strategic thinking, interface design and technical innovation.
The company employs a team of over 20 staff who specialise in taking mobile products all the way from concept to launch. Recent clients include Nokia, Orange, the BBC, Lastminute.com, Rank Interactive, the AA, Dennis Publishing and the Official Glastonbury App for which they have received a number of award nominations including the forthcoming ‘Mobile Marketing Awards 2011’.
The newly acquired business will continue to operate out of both London and Brighton offices.
Tom Hume, Future Platform’s founder commented, “We’ve spent the last 11 years building one of the best mobile app teams in the world, and now’s the time to capitalise on this and take the company to the next level. Having worked with the Vexed team before founding FP, I know they’re the right people to help manage this growth”.
Richard Davies, founder of Vexed Digital, said “We are delighted to bring a wealth of mobile expertise to our business to bolster our existing capabilities in this area. In a rapidly evolving industry it’s imperative to continually invest in our offer and ensure we have the right blend of skills to meet the needs of the market. We look forward to forming a successful partnership with Future Platforms in helping both sets of clients to better understand how touch points link up, ultimately to increase conversion and drive commerce”.
