We work with Maggie’s to define, monitor and enhance its social media strategy. A multi-channel approach was taken reach new audiences in a cost effective way.
It was important that Maggie’s established a presence in social sites outside of its own community, in order to support cancer patients and fundraisers. The aim was to help more users discover the site and engage with Maggie’s. We worked with the team to define the strategy, provide training sessions and then support Maggie’s in implementing their new social media strategy
A Facebook page was set up providing a direct channel to users and a way of pushing out promotional content, fund-raising events and the services they offer. A Twitter account was also created to establish a dialogue with users and a newsfeed of Maggie’s activity to the wider web. YouTube is also now used to publicise content created by Maggie’s to a wider audience. Maggie’s also took advantage of a free charitable Google Adwords grant to promote its community.
Maggie’s presence on Facebook and Twitter now has hundreds of fans to engage with, promoting its online centre and the wider work of the charity.
