Vexed put Domino's in Touch

Vexed Digital has helped Domino’s Pizza keep customers happy – with the launch of new innovative in-store kiosks. The touch screens allow users to place their own orders, reducing wait time by allowing the customer to simply and quickly place their orders for piping hot pizza.


The kiosks are a first for UK fast food, and were developed by the Vexed team after a request from Domino’s. “We built the kiosks for Domino’s, after they received requests from franchises for the touch screen technology,” explains Daniel Strawson, Head of Business Analysis, Vexed Digital. “We then developed the software, making sure it was as user friendly as possible while displaying all Domino’s menu options – including all sides, meal deals and create your own options.”

The Domino’s Touch units will be placed at the front of the store. Once the customer has entered their requirements, they simply pay by credit or debit card and the order is sent directly to the kitchen. The first unit has already been rolled out in the company’s Kingston store in Milton Keynes with more to follow in other franchises in the near future.

“I am extremely pleased with the outcome,” added Jane Kimberlin, IT Director for Domino’s Pizza, “It will be a great customer service tool providing extra support when the store is really busy. The growth in internet ordering has proved that customers love to order their own pizzas and by giving them this new fun touch screen system in store, they can do this for collection too. It will also mean other team members can be free to assist with pizza making or oven tending at busy times. Domino’s Pizza prides itself on being at the forefront of many new innovations within the pizza delivery business and the Domino’s Touch is just our latest invention.”

The Touch will begin to appear in stores all around the country over the next few months.
